If my memory serves me correctly, me and the Shaolin Monkey went dancing to Jonny Dub in the back of the Roadhouse in Manchester one night, made BFF and decided to start doing a night. A dancefloor’s DJ, Dub heads up Hoya Hoya with fellow tune entrepenuer Illum Sphere.
Here is a new mix from Jonny before he jumps on Groovement in March. Big up yer week and get this on yer iPod on the way to work.

In town as part of the Red Bull Music Academy takeover of last weekend which saw Hudson Mohawke, Actress and Kode 9 amongst others hit Manchester (specifically the Roadhouse for Hoya Hoya), DEBRUIT dropped into Groovement over at Unity Radio to deliver a live set together with tunage from Mooken and Jonny Dub of HOYA HOYA.
I’ve been following Debruit for a while; his hip hop production has a real bounce to it as displayed especially over the last couple of EPs (with 3D covers no less) – his newest release, out imminently, is a digital package BEATS 4 HAITI sampling Haitian music with all proceeds going direct to victims of the earthquake.

Well, well, well… a couple of weeks after joining us in the studio with Brackles, Daedelus returns to our humble Manchester studio with a special friend in tow in the form of the MotherFucking Gaslamp Killer.
Jonny Dub of Hoya Hoya kicks us off with some typical Hoya fatness before Daedelus digs out his UK purchases and spins us some scratchy vinyl. Gaslamp drops some ill and upfront shit from his iPhone while Illum Sphere gets a late train in to finish us off.
MONSTER of a show, and a direct result of Hoya KILLING it at the Warehouse Project the night before. The only way is up, gentlemen.
